In a unanimous vote last night, the Newtown Legislative Council decided to demolish the home where Sandy Hook Elementary shooter book my show Adam Lanza lived with his mother, echoing the decision to raze and rebuild Sandy Hook Elementary School.
In a letter to the council, neighbor Dave Ackart wrote that "not only is the property a constant reminder of the evil that resided there, those of us who walk, run, drive, ride or otherwise must pass it multiple times a day, are having a hard time moving on." It's worth noting that the homes of the Columbine shooters are still standing, and are currently occupied by new owners. Some property appraisers say that demolition doesn't tend to aid the "moving book my show on" process any more than getting a new owner in there, which, if it were possible, obviously would have had to happen at a very reduced price. book my show
Newtown book my show was granted ownership of the home in December by the Hudson City Savings Bank of New Jersey, which bought it from the LLC that Adam's older brother Ryan sold it to last fall. The two-acre property was last appraised book my show at $523K.
