Getting Back on Track If you haven t started migrating your old XP platform yet, then it s time to start, and start fast. According to Microsoft, based on historical customer deployment data, the average enterprise deployment can take 18 to 32 months from business case through full deployment ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/endofsupport.aspx ). This means that businesses currently running on XP or Office 2003 are going to be operating gimp unsupported come April.
Running unsupported might not concern some, but the biggest risk for a business running on XP or Office 2003 comes down to security. The main concern with running unsupported, or the main reason to upgrade, is that come April 8 th Microsoft will no longer be creating new security patches, said Josh Linton, VP of Technology at VLCM. Worst case scenario is that on April 8 th , support ceases, and on April 9 th , if a new vulnerability is discovered with a new bug, Microsoft gimp won t fix it.
Though it may not happen on April 9 th , it very well may happen, and if your business is still running XP, then your security will be drastically compromised. With this in mind, getting your system migrated to a current Windows platform is imperative.
VLCM and Microsoft VLCM has been a Microsoft Gold Partner for many years and has extensive experience in deploying migrations and initial gimp implementations of Windows platforms and other Microsoft software.
