Facebook announced yesterday that the company buys up Oculus VR for two billion dollars, equivalent to 12.8 billion. Oculus VR is behind the cyber glasses Oculus Rift, a game accessory that will offer virtual reality. Oculus Rift has not been released yet, but several of the leading gaming companies have shown great interest in vr glasses. Minecraft is one of the companies held talks on releasing a version of the game that is customized for Oculus Rift. The plan now appears to have come unstuck after yesterday's takeover of Facebook. Minecraft creator Marcus Persson, announced yesterday on Twitter that he canceled plans for an Oculus Rift version of Minecraft. The reason for his decision is that Facebook "scares him". - We had discussions about possibly releasing a version of Minecraft for Oculus. I have just suspended the talks. Facebook scares me, writes Marcus Persson on Twitter. In a blog post, he explained his actions and his attitude towards Facebook. - I definitely want to be a part of virtual reality, but I will not work with Facebook. The company's motive is unclear and there has not historically been a stable platform. There's no Facebook made that allowed me to trust the company, and that makes Facebook is perceived as frightening to me, writes Marcus Persson in a blog post. Facebook has not indicated its plans about the Oculus Rift, but the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said yesterday that Facebook will not try to make money selling vr glasses. Do not miss: Here is Sony's new Headset for Playstation 4 - We are obviously not a hardware company. We will not try to make money selling hardware. We see it as a solution for software and services. We believe that virtual kizi reality will be defined by social experiences that connect people in new magical way, says Mark Zuckerberg in a press release. Neither kizi Facebook or Oculus VR has commented kizi Marcus Persson's decision.
