Sample life from within a Brazilian favela, the City of God, in the 60s and 70s. The protagonist, a young man with an interest in photography, is one of the few in history that stays out of the gang activity in the neighborhood.
During the first film, dated 60, the setting is a dusty village on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The film is narrated in first person by Rocket, a little boy of the favela, and from stresses principle is known throughout the whole film, implicitly: the government and the rich do not care about the problems of the favela .
In the City of God, despite its heavenly name, no electricity and no paved roads, and yet being populated area will more each day. And the gang is a phenomenon that the group sees small central characters emerge and becomes part firsthand, throughout his life.
